2. Getting Healthier

For a team to make a run to the NBA Finals, they need to have some luck on their side when it comes to remaining healthy. Golden State is off to an 8-1 start despite not having their full allotment of players. Soon, that will change.

Jonathan Kuminga, who is a raw prospect selected No. 7 overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, has only appeared in four games. James Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and projected starting center, injured his knee in April and is working his way to the team now.

The player everyone is waiting to see get back on the court is Klay Thompson. Thompson hasn’t played in an NBA game since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

In that game, Thompson tore his ACL, which sidelined him for the entire 2019-20 season. His 2020-21 season ended before it began as he ruptured his Achilles working out in preparation for the season. More than two years removed from his last game played, the Warriors and basketball fans are itching to see Thompson back on the court.

Adding two players of that caliber to a team playing this well should help take them to another level. Golden State’s depth will be excellent and they will have the pieces to swing for a big trade should the opportunity arise to make one.
