The New York Knicks have done a great job of building depth on their roster in recent NBA seasons. Leon Rose has put a plan in place and has been able to execute it to perfection. Thus far, everything he has done has worked out.

The Knicks made the playoffs in Tom Thibodeau’s first season as head coach as Rose provided him with players that fit his game plan. He did a good job continuing that plan this offseason, as he upgraded multiple spots in the starting lineup.

Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier were signed to replace Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock. Their 2021 draft class also looks good, as they added Quentin Grimes, Deuce McBride, and Jericho Sims.

But, with the added players, some people move further down the depth chart. One of the players that are going to find it difficult to find playing time is Kevin Knox II.

Knox was buried on the team’s depth chart last season after receiving some opportunities early in the year. This season, he looks to be starting at the end of the depth chart and could use a change of scenery to get on track.

The Knicks have kept Knox out of their rotation this season and with the team being one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, there is a need to get the most out of every roster spot.

The Oklahoma City Thunder could be a good landing spot for Knox. Here is a hypothetical trade that gives Knox a fresh start while giving the New York Knicks a more immediately ready-to-contribute player.
