Does this trade make sense for the Brooklyn Nets?
Eric Bledsoe and Luke Kennard would definitely provide the Brooklyn Nets with depth in their backcourt and solve some of their rotational issues, but why would they trade Kyrie Irving, one of the best guards in the league, for two guys who are not close to being All-Star talents?
This trade makes no sense whatsoever for the Nets and they could definitely get some much better value from other teams around the league that have inquired about Irving’s availability.
Plus, the Nets have not given up hope that they will be able to have Kyrie Irving on the court for them this season.
Any potential trade involving Kyrie Irving is going to be extremely difficult for other teams around this league to try and put together not only because of all the negative media attention that comes with Irving right now, but because of the Nets’ demands.

Brooklyn is the favorite to win the 2021 NBA Finals right now, even without Kyrie Irving, so if they are to trade him, they will need to be receiving a ton of immediate value.
Both Bledsoe and Kennard can contribute off the bench right away, but these two guys are not even close to Kyrie Irving in terms of value, which is why this trade between the Nets and Clippers has no chance of happening.
