With Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely and likely not returning until the All-Star break at the earliest, the Los Angeles Clippers have a massive hole to try and fill on their roster if they are to continue being a contending team in the Western Conference.
Paul George is a fantastic two-way All-Star in his own right and guys like Reggie Jackson, Eric Bledsoe, Marcus Morris Sr., and Nicolas Batum are all solid role players, but this team could really use another key talent if they are to make it back to the Western Conference Finals this season.
If they were able to somehow land Kyrie Irving, all of their problems would be solved and when Leonard returns, they would have the best All-Star trio in the league.
Making this trade work with Brooklyn though, especially without other teams involved, could be really hard to do though for the Clippers. Eric Bledsoe and Luke Kennard are two contributing role players who could play right away for the Nets, but are they really two guys the Nets would want to trade Irving for right now given the All-Star’s value when he is on the court?

Keon Johnson was drafted 21st overall this year and is one of the best athletes coming out of the 2021 draft class, but the Nets are not really a team that is going to be looking to add young talents when they are one of the top-tier teams in the league in terms of contending for a title.
Moving Kyrie Irving is definitely a possible scenario for the Brooklyn Nets this season, but this trade may not be anything close to the value they would want for the All-Star point guard, even if he is currently sitting out games.
