Best Trade Destination No. 1: New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans were one of the teams linked to Buddy Hield throughout the offseason. While no trade was finalized at the time, he is still someone that it would be smart for them to be targeting.
Things have started slowly in New Orleans as the Pelicans await Zion Williamson’s return from injury. Without him, their offense has been stuck in the mud, as they are averaging 101.3 points per game thus far.
Williamson’s return will help improve that number, and Buddy Hield would as well. Hield is the exact type of player that the Pelicans need more of, as they are not a great 3-point shooting team. Their percentage is decent, but they do not shoot with any volume. Hield has more than seven 3-point attempts per game in his career alone.
Hield is also an excellent fit alongside Williamson. Along with Devonte’ Graham, the Pelicans would then have two high-volume shooters that defenses would have to pay attention to. It would open things up in the middle even more for Williamson and Brandon Ingram to operate.

The price likely wouldn’t be too steep and the Pelicans could use some help in the backcourt. Buddy Hield is presumably available and New Orleans should jump at the chance to acquire him.
