Marvin Bagley III continues to be a hot topic of discussion within the Sacramento Kings organization and the Kings may be ready to move on from their former No. 2 overall pick, who was selected prior to Luka Doncic and Trae Young in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Kings are interested in trading their former second overall draft pick, but are looking to get first-round value in return right now.
After not moving him at the trade deadline last season and not moving him again this past offseason, the Kings opted to not include Marvin Bagley III in their opening night rotation to begin the 2021-22 season, which drew criticism from Bagley’s representation at Excel Sports Management.
Jeff Schwartz, President and Founder of Excel Sports Management released a statement on October 19 in regards to his client’s situation in Sacramento, stating that the Kings as an organization have been “contradictory to their ‘value’ arguments” and that they have “mismanaged” this entire situation.
One of the main reasons the Kings have not yet traded Bagley is because they have not received the right “value” in possible trade packages for him, but Schwartz seems to believe that they have passed up on numerous opportunities to make matters right.

To begin the year, Bagley has played in just one game and is in a very awkward situation in Sacramento right now, hence why we could see a trade on the horizon.
Right now, several teams around the league are interested in possibly adding the Sacramento Kings’ forward to their roster via trade, but it is unknown if said teams are willing to offer up first-round value for him right now.
Given his injuries concerns and durability concerns, Marvin Bagley remains a young talent in this league with lots of question marks surrounding him as he is in the final year of his rookie contract.
The Sacramento Kings are going to be looking to move Bagley at some point this season and these three teams could very well be in the mix to land him.
