Could the Minnesota Timberwolves make a trade work?
A trade package of D’Angelo Russell, Jaden McDaniels, Malik Beasley and some draft picks has been the most talked-about trade package in regards to Minnesota possibly landing Ben Simmons and this is actually not a terrible trade for Philadelphia to make, especially if Simmons continues to hold out and not show up to team activities as we inch closer to the start of the regular season.
Even just Russell, McDaniels, and some draft picks could be enough for the Minnesota Timberwolves to get Simmons at this point, who is turning into a major liability on the Philadelphia 76ers roster if he continues to hold out.
If they can keep both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, then the Minnesota Timberwolves should be willing to do any other deal possible to acquire Ben Simmons.
Pairing him with these two guys would finally make the Timberwolves a team to watch in the Western Conference, something they have not been since Kevin Garnett was in Minnesota.

The Philadelphia 76ers find themselves in a very tough position with the NBA season less than three weeks away now, but they do have to be careful.
Giving up Ben Simmons for not as much value as they originally envisioned could end up causing the 76ers to rebuild once again, something they do not want to do since they were just the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference last season.
Minnesota certainly has the assets to be able to trade for Ben Simmons and make themselves a viable competitor in the Western Conference, but the question that remains is whether or not the Philadelphia 76ers do in fact trade him over the next two weeks.
