Over the years, the Minnesota Timberwolves have paired former No. 1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns with the likes of Zach LaVine, Jimmy Butler, and even another No. 1 overall pick in Andrew Wiggins, yet this franchise has seen the playoffs and a winning record over the course of a season just once since the start of the 2004-05 NBA season.

Now, Minnesota has Towns paired with former All-Star D’Angelo Russell and last year’s No. 1 overall pick in Anthony Edwards, forming a decent-looking trio in the Western Conference, but this team is still on the outside looking in on the playoffs.

The Timberwolves need to make a big move to get their superstar another worthy All-Star talent, which is why they are so involved in trade talks revolving around Philadelphia 76ers’ All-Star Ben Simmons.

Aside from Alex Rodriguez joining the ownership group that is buying both the Timberwolves and Lynx, the Minnesota Timberwolves really have not been in the news much this NBA offseason.
