Karl-Anthony Towns
Karl-Anthony Towns has had it rough recently. He had multiple family members pass away from the COVID-19 pandemic, which is difficult for anyone to handle. It made for a very difficult 2020-21 season, in which he dealt with injuries as well on the court.
The Minnesota Timberwolves felt those injuries, as the team struggled once again. They didn’t even have the benefit of landing a top pick as a result of their losses, as they traded it to the Golden State Warriors in the Andrew Wiggins-D’Angelo Russell swap.
While Karl-Anthony Towns has said that he wants to remain in Minnesota, there is only so much losing a player can take before they want to see what else is out there. The Timberwolves have missed the postseason in 16 out of the last 17 years. Their lone appearance in 2018 is the only thing keeping them from holding the longest playoff drought record in NBA history, which the Sacramento Kings tied this past season at 15.
While Karl-Anthony Towns has said all of the right things, another slow start could change his tune. He is happy to have his friend Russell on the team, but the results will have to start coming soon otherwise he could look for a change of scenery.

The team did finish the 2020-21 season 11-11 with everyone healthier, so that is an encouraging sign going forward. But, it could take more than .500 for Karl-Anthony Towns to be appeased with the situation.
