Not only did the veteran wing average 15.6 points per game last season while coming off the bench in 44 of the 46 games he played in with the Magic but near the halfway point in the season, he was being mentioned as a player to watch in terms of the Sixth-Man of the Year award.

Ricky Rubio will provide the Cavs second-unit with a lot of stability and Lauri Markkanen is also another high-level scoring threat they can utilize, but adding Ross to this roster suddenly makes Cleveland a worthy team in the Eastern Conference.

The Cavaliers may not be able to beat the top-tier teams like the Nets, Bucks, and Heat, but there is no reason why this team at full strength could not compete with the other 11 teams in the Eastern Conference.

Not only is his contract favorable, as Ross is only owed $24M over the next two seasons, but the Cavs could definitely get him at a cheap price. He is a better all-around offensive threat than Cedi Osman, hence why trading for Ross could definitely make sense for the Cavaliers heading into the new season.
