Does this trade make sense for Philadelphia 76ers?

Bringing in Kevin Love may not sound like something that makes sense for the Sixers to do, but in actuality, this trade makes more sense for the Philadelphia 76ers the more you think about it.

Kevin Love would be a key veteran player that can play a handful of minutes per night for the Sixers at a high level, Sexton can play all 82 games during the regular season and maintain his status as a high-level scorer and Cam Reddish is only going to get better as a polished offensive threat.

Reddish was hurt most of last season with an Achilles injury, but when he came back in the playoffs, he actually looked like one of the better impact players on the Atlanta Hawks roster against the eventual NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks.

Love, Sexton, and Reddish can make an impact the second they put on a 76ers’ uniform, which is why they could be of use to this organization.

Right now, Philly’s championship window is small with the likes of the Nets and Bucks being two of the NBA’s most dominant teams, but there is an opportunity for this team to seize control of the Eastern Conference with Joel Embiid leading them. Embiid and Harris, as well as Seth Curry, are key offensive threats, but they are missing that extra bit of offense.

Not only could they get that with Collin Sexton, but the Sixers would gain additional offensive firepower with the likes of Kevin Love and Cam Reddish. The assets the Sixers get back for Simmons and Maxey in this deal are definitely fair, but the main question becomes whether or not this is the best deal Philadelphia gets.

If the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in Ben Simmons, they are not the only team pursuing him right now, which is why Philly will take their time sorting out deals and making counteroffers.

Simmons is a 3x All-Star and needs to be treated as such, which is why the Philadelphia 76ers will not take this deal unless it truly is the best one on the table in terms of helping them become a better team over the next year or so.
