Buddy Hield
The Sacramento Kings have been shopping shooting guard Buddy Hield for a while now. Last year there were discussions about sending him to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle. Seeing how things went for each player this season, that deal is no longer on the table.
This offseason, it did look like Hield was on his way to the Los Angeles Lakers. A deal between the Kings and Lakers was so close to being done, it was being reported by people like Adrian Wojnarowski.
Buddy Hield was going to the Lakers in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and the Lakers’ 2021 first-round draft pick. At the last minute, Los Angeles pivoted from that deal, sending that package and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Washington Wizards for Russell Westbrook.
With how often he has been on the trade block and that Lakers deal seemingly all but done, it would be awkward for Buddy Hield to return to the Kings at this point. Trading him would be best for both parties, especially since Sacramento needs to clear their logjam in the backcourt.

Buddy Hield’s contract is a bit cumbersome, but plenty of teams would like to have a 40.6 percent, high-volume 3-point shooter on their roster.
