Eric Gordon

The Houston Rockets have very few remnants left from the Mike D’Antoni era on their roster. They have been actively selling recently, moving on from all of their veteran players and embracing a rebuild.

Once the James Harden blockbuster was completed, it was essentially a waiving of the white flag moment for Houston. P.J. Tucker was later traded and Eric Gordon will likely be next.

Eric Gordon has struggled with injuries recently, playing in only 63 games the last two seasons. Turning 33 in December, the Rockets have very little use for him given the stage of the rebuild they are in and how many wings they now have to build around on their roster.

Had Gordon not injured his groin around the NBA Trade Deadline last season, he may have already been on his way out of Houston. His salary will present some challenges, but there are enough playoff-contending teams that could be willing to send a young player or future draft picks back to Houston in exchange for Eric Gordon.

The former Hoosier can be a spark plug off the bench, averaging 16.6 points per game in his career, knocking down 36.8 percent of his 3-point attempts along the way. There should be some real appeal for a contender when it comes to an Eric Gordon trade.
