3. Karl-Anthony Towns
The Minnesota Timberwolves have struggled mightily in recent years. Minnesota has missed the postseason 16 out of the last 17 years. The only time they qualified was following the 2017-18 season when Jimmy Butler was leading the way.
Without Butler’s toughness and leadership, the Timberwolves have suffered a lot more losing. Karl-Anthony Towns has played well, but maybe it is time to change things up in Minnesota.
Trading away a superstar-level player is never an easy thing to do. However, the Timberwolves have just continued racking up losses at a furious pace outside of the one season Butler was there. Could they entertain trading Towns and focusing their rebuild around Anthony Edwards, the No. 1 pick from the 2020 NBA Draft?
Were Karl-Anthony Towns to be put on the trade block, he would receive a lot of interest. Minnesota would receive a package of young building blocks in addition to draft capital that they can use to build the roster up again.

Karl-Anthony Towns is only turning 26-years old this year and has three years remaining on his contract. But, the organization should consider if they can build a contender up in the next three seasons with him onboard, or if they would be better off moving him for pieces and restarting their organizational clock with Edwards as the centerpiece.
