2. Jerami Grant

The Detroit Pistons got two of the bigger steals in free agency in 2020 with Mason Plumlee and Jerami Grant. Detroit already traded Plumlee to the Charlotte Hornets this offseason, acquiring him along with the 37th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft in exchange for the 57th pick in the draft.

Could Grant be on the way out of town next? He was excellent in his first season in Detroit, as he sought out a team that would allow him the chance to spread his wings offensively and he lived up to the expectations. The team went 20-52 but he showed he can score, averaging a career-high 22.3 points per game.

With the Pistons stocking up on prospects and the future looking bright, having a veteran such as Jerami Grant in the mix makes some sense to take some pressure off of them. But, his contract is also proving to be a bargain, so flipping him for some more assets to push the rebuild forward would make sense.

At 27-years old, Jerami Grant is only just beginning to enter his prime. But, he is not on the same timeline as the rest of his teammates. Flipping him for players that are closer to that timeline could make sense in the grand scheme of things.

The current young core of the Pistons is all 23-years of age or younger. By the time they are ready to truly contend and battle it out in the Eastern Conference, Jerami Grant could very well be entering out of his prime.
