Ben Simmons
The end of ‘The Process’ is upon us. The Philadelphia 76ers are bound to break up their All-Star duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid this offseason, as Simmons seems ready to move on to another team this offseason.
The 76ers have not found the success they were hoping for with those two as the foundational pieces of the organization. After yet another disappointing performance in the postseason, in which Ben Simmons’s offensive struggles were once again front and center, a change seems necessary.
Philadelphia is reportedly motivated to make a deal, which makes sense. They cannot go into training camp with a player on their team that isn’t having any communication with the organization or players on the team. But, to get a deal done, Daryl Morey will have to lower his asking price.
The Golden State Warriors were asked for Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, both lottery picks in 2021 and two future first-round picks for Simmons. The Spurs were asked for four first-round picks, three pick swaps and a young player. The Toronto Raptors were asked for Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and the No. 4 overall pick.

None of those are realistic offers, especially for a team supposedly motivated to make a deal. Simmons would like to head to the west coast with the Warriors, but it is hard to envision the 76ers giving him what he wants with how things have transpired.
Ben Simmons will get his wish to go further out but not to the west coast, as he will end up with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota is desperate to build a winner and bringing in a player of Simmons’ caliber to pair with Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns would give them one of the best young trios in the NBA to build around.
