Goran Dragic
The Toronto Raptors acquired Goran Dragic this offseason as part of the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat. Dragic came to Toronto along with Precious Achiuwa and a future second-round pick. But, if it is up to Dragic, he will not be suiting up with Toronto.
Dragic made some comments that rubbed Raptors fans the wrong way. They were translated, so something could have been lost in translation, but it was reported that he said he had higher ambitions than playing for the Raptors. He issued an apology for what he said.
There have been reports that the Dallas Mavericks would like to have Goran Dragic re-routed to them, but they do not want to trade for him. They are holding out hope that the Raptors will release him, but the chances of that happening are slim.
Dragic is an excellent trade chip for the Raptors. Even if he doesn’t suit up for the team, they are going to make the most of him as a trade asset.

The Raptors will keep him on the roster until an adequate offer arrives. Whether that is from the Mavericks or not, we will wait and see. But, Goran Dragic will begin the season on Toronto’s roster as they wait for a trade partner to emerge.
