4. Lonzo Ball, Chicago Bulls
There was a lot of chatter surrounding Lonzo Ball heading into the offseason. He was going to be one of the most sought-after point guards on the market despite being a restricted free agent. That means anyone that offered him a contract, the New Orleans Pelicans could match.
Once the Pelicans cleared some salary-cap space in the deal that sent Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams to the Memphis Grizzlies, many assumed it was to ensure they had the space to retain Ball. Zion Williamson publicly stated that he wanted Ball back with the Pelicans as well.
The Chicago Bulls signed Ball to a four-year, $80 million offer sheet. The Pelicans decided not to match, instead sending a future first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets in a sign-and-trade for Devonte’ Graham to replace Ball.
In Ball, the Bulls are getting a player that not only helps them in their quest to get back to the postseason now but can grow with last year’s first-round pick, Patrick Williams. He also fills their biggest need this offseason, which was finding an upgrade at the point guard spot.

Getting a 23-year old restricted free agent, under market value, is quite a coup for the Bulls.
