Does this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?
The New Orleans Pelicans have to worry about Zion Williamson sticking around long term. If acquiring another guard would make this happen, it is certainly something they should think about. Collin Sexton could be one of the best young talents available on the market and this could be their option.
It is clear that star power is needed to win in the NBA, and lots of it. The Pelicans have their core in place and added another solid option in Graham.
Sexton will only solidify the backcourt as the start with Devonte’ Graham coming off-the-bench. This would be a long-term solution at the most important position on the floor. Graham is known for his spot-up sharpshooting but his lack of rim pressure makes for limited options as a starter.
Sexton would have to become a bit more passive with the Pelicans. If that is possible, could work with New Orleans. Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson are going to be the primary focuses but Sexton could slot in well
