Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
There is a decision coming for the Sacramento Kings regarding Marvin Bagley III. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and that means he is up for a new deal. The Kings have to decide whether they want to sign him or could move him in a trade. The decision seems clear but nothing is guaranteed.
If the decision is indeed to trade him, Bagley could have some interest as an athletic big that is still very young. Because of his contract situation, Bagley would not bring back a large return. He does not have team control and that is a factor.
Plumlee is an experienced big that would fit in well with Sacramento. They would also be able to add some draft capital that could be used in another deal moving forward.
The benefit here is not the return but the chance to part ways with Bagley before they would have to give him a new contract.

The Kings should have some other priorities to worry about but a piece of their mind has to be on Bagley. There will be a decision made soon and it could come once the free-agency period is complete.
