This Hornets-Kings trade gives Marvin Bagley III a fresh start

It is time for the Sacramento Kings to get back to relevance. They can do this by finding a big-splash trade, potentially for Pascal Siakam or another guard next to De’Aaron Fox. This is not that NBA blockbuster trade but the Charlotte Hornets could lineup well in a deal moving forward.

Sacramento currently holds the longest playoff drought in the league, and by a long shot. The Kings last made the postseason back in 2006 when Mike Bibby and Peja Stojakovic were running the show.

To this point, there is no path back anytime soon for Sacramento. They have a franchise player to build around with Fox but there are not many long-term pieces with him. There are holes all over the floor for Sacramento so they could decide to go many ways in a trade.

This is where the Hornets could lineup. Charlotte has loaded up the backcourt over the years and that has continued. LaMelo Ball is the new centerpiece for the Hornets to build around. Devonte’ Graham is now in New Orleans and Terry Rozier’s contract is coming to an end.

The Hornets have reloaded with the likes of James Bouknight in the draft. The Hornets also added Kai Jones in the draft but their depth in the frontcourt remains an issue. This is where they could look for some more help down low and the Kings could have a piece to send away.

This trade would have great benefits for both sides as they look to reload this offseason. Here is what a potential trade between the Hornets and Kings could look like moving forward.
