Dennis Schroder gets the contract he desires
The Los Angeles Lakers acquired Dennis Schroder via trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder last offseason in hopes he could be a third scoring option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Even though he showed glimpses of being what the team was looking for in the regular season, his performance against the Phoenix Suns in the postseason could lead to his departure in free agency.
Plus, Schroder is seeking a contract that is worth $100-120 million in free agency, which could take him out of the desired price range for some teams.
With Russell Westbrook is now the point guard of the Lakers, Schroder’s time with the team has come to a clear end. Could that prompt some teams to make a more aggressive pursuit from the start?

With there being plenty of point-guard needy teams in the NBA, Schroder ends up getting an expensive contract — whether you believe he deserves it or not — that makes him one of the highest-paid point guards in the league.
