Bad Fit: Orlando Magic

There aren’t many teams in the NBA that wouldn’t benefit from adding Myles Turner this offseason. He is a 25-year-old center that can contribute on both ends of the floor, and at the least, he’ll protect the rim.

For the Orlando Magic, it remains to be seen what their long-term plans at the center position are. Do they believe Wendell Carter Jr. can fill that role or will Mo Bamba finally develop into the player they were hoping he’d be when he came into the league in 2019?

Following the trade of Nikola Vucevic, the Magic don’t have a definitive answer to replacing him. That being said, Turner wouldn’t be a great fit alongside either Carter or Bamba at the center position.

Also, with Orlando’s lack of shooting, Turner would be leaned on heavily to produce from beyond the arc.

Putting Turner in a position where he needs to be one of your premier three-point shooters is setting your team up for failure in the long run.
