Mo Bamba
The Orlando Magic traded away their best player, Nikola Vucevic, at the trade deadline. That would have seemed to open up playing time for Mo Bamba, who they selected 6th overall in 2018. But, Wendell Carter Jr. was acquired in the deal, giving Orlando another young center who could use minutes to develop.
When given the opportunity, Bamba has played well. He had some truly eye-popping stat lines the last few weeks of the season when his playing time increased. In April, he showed off his offensive versatility, knocking down 42.9 percent of his 3-point attempts. He also blocked 20 shots in 14 games.
In May, Bamba blocked 14 shots in seven games, averaging 11 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 25.1 minutes per game.
With Oklahoma City, Bamba would play as many minutes as he could handle. With Moses Brown and Al Horford now on the Boston Celtics, the Thunder don’t have a center on the roster currently other than Tony Bradley.

Acquiring a young player with as much upside as Bamba has would be a low-risk, high reward move for a rebuilding team.
