3 star-caliber players Boston Celtics could target this offseason

Boston Celtics, NBA Trade Rumors

The Boston Celtics have a new sheriff in town, as Brad Stevens left the sidelines to begin working in the front office and has already gotten off to a hot start this NBA offseason. He is taking over the position in the front office that Danny Ainge stepped down from.

Stevens has already shown that he will be aggressive in his new position. He completed his first trade days after taking over, sending starting point guard Kemba Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a salary dump move. He attached the team’s 2021 first-round pick to him, getting Al Horford in exchange.

The Celtics have a great foundation in place with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but they need to add a little more to the roster to get back to contending in the Eastern Conference.

The lack of aggressiveness is something that fans were beginning to get fed up with Ainge about. The Celtics have been constantly named a potential landing spot for star-caliber players, but the trigger was never pulled on a deal to make it happen.

Fans are hopeful that this changes with Stevens. He will have an opportunity to upgrade the roster this offseason, as the Celtics have some good pieces to trade.
