Chicago Bulls: Marcus Smart
The Chicago Bulls made their intentions clear at the deadline this year when they acquired Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic. The Bulls have now missed the playoffs for four straight years and will be looking to snap that streak with their new dynamic duo.
While Zach Lavine and Vucevic are both great offensive players, the Bulls should be targeting some defensive players to fill the roster out around them. A point guard could also be atop the team’s to-do list. One player that will help in both areas is Marcus Smart.
The Boston Celtics are looking to shake things up this season and Smart is the team’s most desirable asset outside of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Smart would be an excellent pairing in the Bulls’ backcourt with LaVine, as he could handle the top defensive assignments each night, taking that pressure off of LaVine.
Smart is a versatile defender that can also get it done on the interior, giving Bulls coach Billy Donovan some real flexibility when constructing lineups. Three-guard lineups would be plausible as Smart can defend a majority of wing players and some frontcourt players depending on the matchups.

Tomas Satoransky and Lauri Markkanen, in a sign-and-trade, are two players from the Bulls the Celtics could have interest in acquiring in a return package for Smart.
