10. Chris Paul Spurns Lakers, Returns To Suns
The Phoenix Suns fell just short of winning the first Larry O’Brien Trophy in franchise history. They were upended by some historical performances from Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Now, the focus will turn to Chris Paul and what he will do in free agency. He has a player option for the 2021-22 season that he is expected to decline in hopes of landing a long-term deal. Once a free agent, there will be numerous teams vying for his services.
The Los Angeles Lakers, with LeBron James recruiting him, will push for it. But, ultimately the Lakers’ lack of cap space will cost them as Paul will return to the Suns and run it back in hopes of getting over the hump in 2022.
9. Chicago Bulls Land Lonzo Ball
The Chicago Bulls missed the postseason for the fourth consecutive season and fifth time in the last six years. But, they made a big splash at the trade deadline acquiring Nikola Vucevic to ensure that streak ends.
The Bulls now have an All-Star duo with Vucevic and Zach LaVine to build around. The team needs a point guard this offseason and they will land one in Lonzo Ball.

As a restricted free agent, the New Orleans Pelicans have the opportunity to match any offer sheet that Ball signs. They will opt against that, agreeing to a sign-and-trade instead with the Bulls. Chicago now has a strong core as the backbone of their roster as they push for the postseason.
