Kyle Lowry
The Miami Heat were one of the teams that pursued Kyle Lowry before the NBA Trade Deadline in March. Lowry wound up finishing the season with the Toronto Raptors, which could have been a blessing in disguise for Miami.
Instead of surrendering assets while bidding against other teams at the deadline, they can now sign him in free agency while retaining all of those assets. While it would be tough to see long-time point guard Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn leave, Lowry would be a big upgrade at the position.
He would be a much-needed go-to scorer, taking pressure off of Butler and Adebayo in the halfcourt. His playmaking and 3-point shooting would help take the team’s offense to another level and make them less stagnant.
On defense, Lowry is as tenacious as they come. He’d set the tone at the point of attack for Miami, giving them an above-average defender at every level of the defense.

At this point in his career, the Philadelphia native wants to win. Miami would provide him that opportunity while being able to pay him well, unlike some of the other contenders that will only have exceptions to add free agents with.
