Step Four: Move on from Victor Oladipo
Ahead of the trade deadline this season, the Miami Heat got their wish of landing Victor Oladipo. The idea was for Oladipo to give Miami a dynamic trio, but Oladipo fell victim to the injury bug once again.
Oladipo’s stint with the Heat this season was short-lived as he played in just four games, notching 12 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He also shot an undesirable 23.5 percent from beyond the arc before being shut down for the rest of the season.
After sustaining another season-ending knee injury, Oladipo won’t be cleared for full contact until November, meaning he won’t be ready for the start of next season.
Seeing that Oladipo is a free agent this summer, he may not receive much interest amid his recovery.

Unless the Heat can get him back on a massive discount, bringing back Oladipo doesn’t seem like a necessary risk for the Heat. While he seems like a perfect fit for Miami when he’s healthy, it’s tough to envision Oladipo staying healthy long-term.
