Fills A Major Need

The No. 1 need for the Chicago Bulls this offseason is a point guard and Ben Simmons would help fill that void in the backcourt.

The team doesn’t know when they will get Coby White back in the fold, as the second-year guard had a shoulder operation and won’t be re-evaluated until October. He will assuredly miss the beginning of the season, as he will have to rehab and get back into shape if the re-evaluation goes well.

Simmons could step right into the starting lineup and help Chicago balance things out as their point guard. They would be able to play to his strengths as Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic will be tasked with handling the scoring load. That will allow Simmons to focus on his strength offensively which is his playmaking.

The former LSU product would also give the Bulls a defensive ace, something they are currently lacking.

Being able to save LaVine from having to chase the opponent’s best perimeter player defensively while having him carry the offensive load will help keep him fresher throughout the season.
