The Bulls Are In Win-Now Mode
The Chicago Bulls made their presence known to the rest of the NBA when they acquired Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic. They want to turn things around and become playoff contenders as soon as possible.
Acquiring a player such as Vucevic is a win-now move. He does not fit the timeline that the Bulls were on, as he will be 31-years old at the start of the 2021-22 season, so the Bulls cannot waste time trying to build up the rest of the roster. So, why not swing for the fences and try landing a player via trade like Ben Simmons?
Simmons would give the Bulls a legitimate Big 3 to contend with the other loaded teams atop the Eastern Conference. Just having those three would make them one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference and depending on how they filled out the roster could be legitimate contenders.
For a team looking to return to relevancy such as the Bulls, swinging a Simmons trade is the fastest route to doing so.
