Cade Cunningham
While this year’s draft class hasn’t played a minute yet in the NBA, there are a few players that stand out as potential stars, one of them being Cade Cunningham.
Cunningham had a great freshman season with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. The Detroit Pistons have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but there have been rumors that Cade Cunningham is not a lock to be selected by them.
Whether or not there is any truth to that, the New Orleans Pelicans should do their due diligence and see if they can move up in the draft.
Adding another high upside player on a rookie contract to pair with Zion Williamson should keep the Pelicans’ books clean for years to come. Even if they are unable to move up to the No. 1 spot, where it is presumed you have to be to land Cade Cunningham, there are other prospects they could target.

Gonzaga point guard Jalen Suggs would be another intriguing perimeter prospect with star potential the team could target near the top of the draft. Jalen Green, who is reportedly loved by the Houston Rockets, is another player worth trading up for that could turn into a star.
