Golden State Warriors Receive: C Christian Wood, G Eric Gordon
Houston Rockets Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, No. 7 Pick In 2021, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2025 First-Round Pick
In this deal the Warriors not only receive Christian Wood, but they bolster their second unit with veteran, Eric Gordon. Gordon has reportedly put on the trade block and would help several contending teams given his scoring prowess. He would provide Golden State with a nice sixth man option to lead their second unit.
Houston receives Andrew Wiggins in this deal, which is part of the reason that Gordon is included so that salaries match. With some big contracts being exchanged, the compensation, draft-wise, heading back to Houston is a little less.
Wiggins is still only 26-years old himself but gives Houston a veteran presence to help anchor what will be one of the youngest rosters in the NBA. He made strides during his lone season with the Warriors and if he continues playing well, the Rockets could flip him again at some point for more assets.
Houston also received the coveted No. 7 overall pick in this year’s draft, via the Minnesota Timberwolves. They also receive two future picks to continue the rebuild in H-Town.
