The Golden State Warriors are armed with some ammunition to make a splash this offseason. That should make teams around the league nervous, as their ownership has shown they are not afraid to spend if it means improving the roster to win an NBA championship.
The Warriors have the perfect combination of assets to swing a big deal should one come their way. They have desirable draft assets and some contracts that they can use to easily match salary.
Many people have mocked different trades involving the Warriors landing All-Stars such as Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal. But, acquiring either of those players would take Golden State unloading all of their assets in one shot. Why not save some for other deals and aim a little lower when it comes to acquiring immediate help?
One player that would fit that bill is Christian Wood. Wood began making a name for himself during the 2019-20 season with the Detroit Pistons and fully broke out with the Houston Rockets during this past season.

Wood averaged 21 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.8 steals in 32.3 minutes per game. He was an efficient scorer, shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from the 3-point line.
He signed a three-year, $41 million deal that looks like a steal already. Acquiring someone with his talent, at that price point, would be a win for any team, but it won’t come cheap. Here are two trade packages the Warriors could offer the Pistons in exchange for Wood.
