#4 Derrick Rose – Unrestricted Free Agent
Derrick Rose was traded to the New York Knicks in the middle of the 2020-21 season and he immediately became a key contributor for them. He even finished as a finalist for the Sixth-Man of the Year award, which was definitely not a fluke!
In 35 regular season games with the Knicks, Rose came off-the-bench in 32 of these games and averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 assists and shot 41.1% from three-point range, the best he has ever shot from deep. Throughout his entire career, D-Rose has battled adversity, but he has always been able to play well under head coach Tom Thibodeau, which is why his career has been resurrected in New York.
Other teams are definitely going to make a push for the veteran point guard, especially since they could likely get him and his production at a much smaller contract than other free agent guards available, but Rose will likely want to remain in New York.
The fan base absolutely loves him, he has a strong relationship with Coach Thibs and he has become a leader in the locker room for this young Knicks team, so it is hard to imagine that Rose will not give the Knicks strong consideration this offseason.

Bringing back Rose is definitely going to be high on the priority list for the Knicks when free agency begins, but they will also be pursuing several other guards. Derrick Rose is now 32-years-old and is not the future of the Knicks backcourt, he is more of a short-term plan and a guy who can transition them into the next era while holding things down now.
