#2 Kyle Lowry – Unrestricted Free Agent

New York needs a big name that can be a leader for their team at the point guard position, which is why Kyle Lowry will definitely be near the top of their list for point guard targets this offseason. The veteran guard could be the final piece to the puzzle for the Knicks in their playoff efforts, but there will be a lot of competition for him in free agency.

At the NBA trade deadline this year, the Raptors made Kyle Lowry available in trade talks and the 76ers, Lakers and Heat were all in competition to try and land the 6x All-Star. Ultimately, the Raptors held onto their leader, but now, they will have a hard time trying to keep him in free agency this year.

Toronto, Miami, Philadelphia, New York, both Los Angeles teams and some other organizations all could have Lowry on their radar, creating a bidding war almost for one of the biggest names available this offseason.

For the Knicks, seeing as there are other, potentially cheaper, options out there, they could be willing to pass up on Kyle Lowry, but he really is the picture-perfect guard for their team. He is one of the best on-ball defenders at the point guard position in the NBA, his basketball IQ is insanely high and he has a championship to his name.

Kyle Lowry was one of the key reasons why the Toronto Raptors took down the Golden State Warriors in 2019 to win their first ever championship and his playoff experience should be viewed highly when free agency begins. He may be 35-years-old, but Lowry could easily play for another 3-4 years at a high-level in this league.
