Does this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?
The Portland Trail Blazers will have plenty of deals to choose from if Damian Lillard is made available. There might not be many that offer as much as the Toronto Raptors can. If Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam are both featured in the deal, this could be the one that makes Portland pull the trigger.
The Trail Blazers had to make a decision on whether it is going to be Lillard or McCollum being traded away. If Lillard tries to force his way out, they will have no choice.
When looking at what they would get back, VanVleet would join McCollum in the backcourt and Siakam would give them more prowess down low. This is an area that the Blazers have struggled with over the years.
When it comes to the Western Conference, teams need to have multiple stars on their team so the Blazers could accomplish that with this deal.

It would hurt Blazers’ fans deeply for Lillard to be traded away but that might be the reality coming soon. If this indeed happens, it will be the blockbuster of the offseason.
