Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?

This would be an interesting situation for Masai Ujiri to make a decision. It always benefits a team when they have a player of Damian Lillard’s caliber but the return would certainly be a lot. At the same time, Toronto has assets they would be able to move in the deal.

It begins with Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam. The Raptors made it clear that VanVleet is going to be their centerpiece when they signed him to a long-term contract last season. Kyle Lowry is entering free agency and it was assumed that VanVleet would be the piece to replace him.

Siakam has continued to improve each year he has been in the league. Toronto is able to sneak into the top five of this draft and that pick would definitely have to be part of the deal.

For all of this, the Raptors will get an elite point guard and all-time shooter like Lillard.

Ujiri is one of the best front-office minds in the league and knows what he is doing. If he decides to make this trade, it would be difficult to argue. Raptors’ fans would certainly be excited as Lillard would come to town to take over the team.
