Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Malik Beasley
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, 2021 first-round pick (No. 22 overall)
There are plenty of trade pieces in Minnesota this offseason and Malik Beasley could lead the way. He had a strong offensive season and added great value in a trade if Minnesota decided to go that way.
In this deal, Beasley would be the lone piece going back to the Los Angeles Lakers. In exchange, Los Angeles would be sending the Minnesota Timberwolves their first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft along with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Los Angeles would also be able to get rid of one of their biggest trade pieces. Caldwell-Pope is a short-term option that could be easy to move. He would be on his way to Minnesota along with a first-round pick in this year’s draft.
The Timberwolves are loaded on the perimeter but Beasley is a lesser priority behind Anthony Edwards on D’Angelo Russell. Why end up having to pay all of them when Minnesota can capitalize on Beasley’s value now while adding a first round pick in the process?
