Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, 2022 first-round pick, and 2024 first-round pick

Whenever speaking about the best fits for Towns, there is always one team that comes to mind. With Towns being a historically prolific shooter at the center position, why not put him on a team that has two of the best shooters in NBA history?

The Golden State Warriors are hoping to get a healthy version of Klay Thompson back on the floor next season following a two-year absence due to injuries.

Being able to get Thompson back would open up more opportunities for Stephen Curry and the other players on the Warriors. But adding Towns into the fold would make them a legitimate contender in the Western Conference immediately.

There aren’t many teams that would be fielding a starting lineup better than Curry, Thompson, whoever at small forward, Draymond Green, and Towns. I put ‘whoever at small forward’ for the Warriors because Andrew Wiggins would be included in the trade for Towns.

Aside from Wiggins, Golden State can offer up James Wiseman, who was the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Getting Wiseman as Towns’ replacement wouldn’t be a bad get for the Timberwolves.

To get the deal completed, the Warriors would also be sending two future first-round picks, which would create more interest for Minnesota. While fans of the Timberwolves would be iffy on the return of Wiggins, getting Wiseman and two first-round picks is one of the better hauls you’ll get for Towns.
