Portland Trail Blazers Receive: C Karl-Anthony Towns and G Malik Beasley
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G CJ McCollum, C Jusuf Nurkic, F Derrick Jones Jr., and 2022 first-round pick
The goal for the Timberwolves, if they are forced to part ways with Towns, is to get the biggest return they possibly can. Among the teams that could pursue Towns, the Portland Trail Blazers can offer an enticing package.
The two biggest pieces going from Portland to Minnesota in the trade would be CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic. McCollum would give the Timberwolves another scorer, which could lead to D’Angelo Russell also being dealt in the offseason.
To replace Towns at the center position, Minnesota would get a solid player in Nurkic, who excels in the paint, and can protect the rim on the defensive end. The other two parts in the trade would be Derrick Jones Jr. and a first-round pick in 2022.
As for the Trail Blazers, they’d be getting a new superstar player to pair with Damian Lillard, making him want to remain with the franchise. Towns and Lillard would be one of the best duos in the NBA immediately, and Towns’ ability to knock down threes would be ideal alongside a player like Lillard.

Malik Beasley would be another welcomed addition for Portland on the wing as Minnesota would be able to rid of his contract in the trade.
