Golden State Warriors Receive: F Pascal Siakam, G Rodney Hood, MEM 2021 2nd Round Pick (Pick #46)
Toronto Raptors Receive: C James Wiseman, F Andrew Wiggins, F Eric Paschall, MIN 2021 1st Round Pick (Pick #7)

Compared to the first trade package, this second scenario actually favors Golden State and their future a little more. Instead of Aron Baynes, the Raptors would be sending Rodney Hood and the 46th pick in this year’s draft to Golden State and instead of the 14th overall pick in this year’s draft, the Warriors would be sending Eric Paschall to Toronto.

Rodney Hood came to the Raptors this season at the trade deadline along with Gary Trent Jr. from Portland. After rupturing his Achilles in December of 2019, Hood has not been the same scoring threat that he used to be, but maybe he could rekindle his shooting touch in Golden State.

Prior to injuring his Achilles in 2019, Rodney Hood was having one of the best years of his career with the Blazers, averaging 11.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and shooting 49.3% from three-point range on about 3.4 three-point attempts per game.

Again, Rodney Hood is not the same player he used to be, but those same principles of being a knockdown shooter on one end of the floor and then being a presence defensively on the other end of the floor still exist within him. Maybe he could finally get back to being a factor off-the-bench if he was to join the Warriors.

This trade is also advantageous to the Warriors because they get to hold onto one of their lottery picks in the draft this year. Not only does this give them the ability to add another young talent, but they could possibly use this pick to replace either Wiggins or Wiseman in their rotation.

They would do so though at the cost of Eric Paschall, who has been a really solid rotational guy for them at the forward position over the last two seasons. Golden State drafted Paschall 41st overall in 2019 and during his rookie year, he averaged 14.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and shot 49.7% from the floor.

His 2020-21 season got cut short due to injuries, as he played in just 40 games, but he still found ways to be productive and make a difference in the second-unit for the Warriors when he was on the court. Paschall could absolutely be an experienced, relatively young forward that Toronto could utilize.

While the first trade gives the Raptors more future assets, this trade seems a little bit more balanced in terms of giving them guys that they can utilize immediately, as well as dumping the salary of Rodney Hood. This is definitely an avenue the Raptors could explore in trade talks surrounding Pascal Siakam.
