While the NBA playoffs are still going on and we inch closer to the NBA Finals, the 2021 NBA offseason has already begun and things are in full swing! This year’s free agent pool is very weak compared to that of years past and with plenty of teams on the verge of becoming something special, there are a handful of teams that will be looking to add another star to their team.
Every offseason, we see plenty of current, former and future All-Stars on the move via trades and this offseason, we should expect nothing less. In fact, we already saw one former All-Star already on the move this offseason as the Boston Celtics traded Kemba Walker to the OKC Thunder.
In his first major move as general manager of the Celtics, former head coach Brad Stevens traded Walker, the 16th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and a 2025 second-round pick to the Thunder in exchange for veteran big man Al Horford and a 2023 second-round pick. Horford himself is a former All-Star talent that played for Boston during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
With Walker’s arrival in Oklahoma City, they are definitely a team to watch for future moves given all of their draft capital over the years, but they could potentially look to move the All-Star guard again. Plenty of other teams should be interested in adding Kemba to their roster, even though he is still owed a ton of money through the years.

The possibility of the Thunder continuing to be big players this offseason remains high, but with the NBA Draft just a month away now, NBA trade rumors are going to begin to circulate around the league. This year’s draft class is highly talented and with teams looking to improve immediately, we could see a plethora of trades on draft night alone!
