Ever since they lost to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals, things have not been “golden” for the Golden State Warriors. Injuries have played a huge role in their decline over the years, especially with Klay Thompson not playing since the 2019 NBA Finals due to a torn ACL in his left knee and then a torn right Achilles tendon.

On top of Klay being out, the Warriors have also dealt with various injuries to Curry, Green, Looney and others throughout the years that have lessened their chances to continue being one of the biggest threats in the league.

Heading into the 2021 offseason, the Warriors find themselves in a very intriguing situation because while they missed the playoffs, they are still very much in the conversation to contend for a title during the 2021-22 season if they make the right moves.

Over the last few weeks, NBA trade rumors have been swirling about who the Warriors could potentially target and one name that has come up is Pascal Siakam.

Targeting Siakam would be a huge move for the Golden State Warriors and would set them over the edge in terms of scoring talent, but this potential trade would come at a major price.

Both James Wiseman and Andrew Wiggins are two guys the Warriors’ front-office are extremely high on moving forward into the future, but they would have to be included in any trade package for Siakam due to financial restraints the Warriors have.

Golden State is $55.4M over the salary cap as of right now and are going to be over the hard cap yet again next season, which means absorbing another $30M+ contract like Pascal Siakam’s is not going to be easy. It is do-able, but they are going to have to be willing to continue paying a ton of money in luxury taxes.

Is trading for Pascal Siakam this offseason at the expense of James Wiseman and Andew Wiggins the final move the Warriors need to make to get back to the NBA Finals?

Here are three trade packages that could be discussed this offseason to land Siakam in Golden State with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green ahead of the 2021-22 season.
