Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers have suddenly become a rebuilding team looking to get some more cap space. Victor Oladipo was a clear contender to be moved because of his injury past and expiring contract. It seems as though the team will move in other directions and other positions as well.
This is going to be an offseason full of NBA trade rumors surrounding players like Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. Either big man would be a win for a team looking for a trade. If Indiana can flip Turner for the ninth-overall pick in the draft, it seems like a win.
This would allow the Pacers to add another strong player to the rotation. Marvin Bagley III could use a change of scenery but develop in a different system but the draft pick is really the main intriguing this deal. Bagley III would be an awkward fit with Sabonis long-term but could rehab his value under Rick Carlisle.
Gaining the No. 9 pick in addition the No. 13 selection would afford the Pacers some intriguing options. Either going the route of having two chances in the lottery or trading up in the 2021 NBA Draft order would be present.
