Dallas Mavericks
For the second consecutive year, the Dallas Mavericks fell victim to the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs. Luka Doncic carried the team during the series, but it wasn’t enough for Dallas to advance to the second round.
While it was an injury that prevented Kristaps Porzingis from being effective in last season’s series, his performance on the floor was the reason why he was futile in this year’s series for the Mavericks versus the Clippers.
Porzingis is now a likely trade candidate for the Mavericks as the team is looking for a new No. 2 option to play alongside Luka Doncic.
Following the departures of Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle, Dallas needs to make splash moves this offseason to convince Doncic that the direction of the franchise is trending upward.
