Does this trade make sense for the Miami Heat?

The Eastern Conference was very top-heavy this season. The Miami Heat were expected to be part of that top group but they fell down in the standings as the year went on. The Heat are a win-now team and need to continue to add impact performers if they want to stay there.

This move could also be more important if Miami loses Duncan Robinson. He is another player who has risen to the top of the league in terms of three-point shooting.

Robinson could leave in NBA free agency which would leave a huge hole in the office for the Heat. Hield would be able to fill that hole and bring some more power to the heat. Hield can score at all three levels but thrives from beyond the arc.

When looking at what they would have to give up, this deal makes a lot of sense for Miami. It would keep them trending in the right direction and make sure that they do not fall into a hole like they did this year.

Even if the Heat do end up retaining Duncan Robinson, adding even more perimeter shooting by acquiring Hield makes plenty of sense. Miami sorely needed more firepower in this department last season to go along with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
