Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
Buddy Hield has been in NBA trade rumors since last year. It seems likely that he was going to be moved in the offseason, then at the trade deadline, but nothing happened. Now, the Sacramento Kings might have no choice but to trade Hield, especially when looking at his contract situation.
Fox is the centerpiece player in Sacramento. He is a franchise guard and that is something that teams need to succeed. If you were the Kings, you need a ton more as well. Hield still has plenty of value and will be able to land them a first round pick along with an intriguing player in Achiuwa.
He would help the prowess in the frontcourt and be a pick-and-roll option with De’Aaron Fox on the perimeter. Sacramento has to make some big moves if they want to trend in the right direction in a difficult Western Conference.
The priority of this trade for the Kings would be shed significant salary cap spending in the immediate future, but most importantly beyond the upcoming season. Buddy Hield has not lived up to his extension and the arrival of Tyrese Haliburton makes it all the more logical to move on.

The Kings are still years away from competing in any capacity but this move would just continue the rebuild. If they do not Hield as a piece for the future, it makes sense to move him immediately.
