4. CJ McCollum to the Philadelphia 76ers
We’ve heard the murmurs of the 76ers possibly listening intently to offers this offseason for Ben Simmons. There has also been reports that Philadelphia could work with Simmons this summer to improve his jump shot, which is something he’s neglected to do in his career thus far. But in the event that the 76ers do move on from Simmons, the Trail Blazers should be a team that Philadelphia calls to speak about his availability.

Even though Damian Lillard would be a massive add, I realistically don’t think that Portland will entertain any offers for the sharpshooting point guard. At the least, the 76ers could be able to pry CJ McCollum away from the Trail Blazers in exchange for Simmons. Being able to acquire McCollum would solve a lot of Philadelphia’s woes on the offensive end.
McCollum is a three-level scorer that can excel in a variety of roles, including as a primary ball-handler. He can also spot up and shoot from beyond the arc as an off-ball player, which would fit Philadelphia’s idea of surrounding Joel Embiid with more shooting.
While losing the defense and facilitating abilities of Simmons, the 76ers would be instant contenders again in the Eastern Conference with a trio of Embiid, McCollum, and Tobias Harris.
