Why This Is A Good Trade For Miami
This is a good trade for the Miami Heat because they are able to shed some veteran contracts while adding some significant depth to their roster. The Heat could be in the market for a starting shooting guard if All-Star Victor Oladipo leaves the team this offseason, and Buddy Hield could be the guy for them to set their sights on.
Miami has to make some major changes to their roster this offseason if they want to bounce back from their first round exit in the playoffs this year, and adding a sharpshooting guard in Hield could be a great way to do so.
The Heat were swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the NBA Playoffs in 2021, but by making a trade to land an intriguing player with some room for growth, that may not be the case at this time next season.
Hield has spent time with two different teams thus far in his NBA career and he has been rumored to be dealt to his third in the near future. This season, Hield averaged 16.6 points per game, 4.7 total rebounds per game, and 3.6 assists per game for the Kings, all of which outweighed his career averages. Hield also shot 40.6 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond the three point line, which could make him a nice addition to the needy Heat.
